SARAH GALLOP – SOPRANO

Since completing her MMus in Vocal and Operatic Performance at Birmingham Conservatoire, soprano Sarah Gallop has performed across the UK and Europe. Sarah took a step back from performing last year, choosing to focus and enjoy the first months of married life.


Sarah enjoys performing as a recitalist – in partnership with Geoff Lavery, as well as working with other well-known accompanists: William Saunders, Christopher Moore, and Karen Smith. She also enjoyed working with John Reid again this year, as part of a vocal and performance masterclass with Diana Moore.

In 2022, Sarah performed as part of an “Opera Favourites” concert in Hadleigh, as well as at the 160th Anniversary Concert of Old Buckenham Hall School, sharing the stage with Nik Kershaw and Bill Sharpe (Shakatak). Other occasions have included public masterclasses & concerts where she performed Mozart opera arias (Come Scoglio, L’amerò sarò costante, O zittre nicht, and Chi sa).

In earlier years, Sarah was honoured to take part in the commemorative service for HRH Prince Philip at St. Edmundsbury’s Cathedral.

During 2020, Sarah created the role of Zelda in Dr. Susannah Self’s brand new opera Artemisia Gentileschi, although the debut was postponed due to the global pandemic. Other operatic performances include the title role of Galatea in Suppé’s Die Schöne Galatée, Cleopatra Giulio Cesare, Yvette La Rondine, Despina Così Fan Tutte. She has also performed as chorus for Suppé’s Die Afrikaheiss, Massenet’s Manon, Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, and Puccini’s il Tabarro.

As a concert soloist, Sarah has performed Bach’s St.John Passion, Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Pergolesi’s Magnificat among others.

Sarah stepped down as Musical Director of Hadleigh Community Choir in the summer of 2023 after six years together.

Sarah has an array of singing and piano students of all ages and abilities.

She studies with Diana Moore.
