CHARLOTTE CLAPPERTON – CONTRALTO

Charlotte Clapperton is a mezzo-soprano from Croydon, London and is currently a student at the Royal Academy of Music. She studies with renowned mezzosoprano, Catherine Wyn-Rogers, and repertoire coach, Matthew Fletcher. Charlotte has been singing from a young age and was the recipient of the 2018 GDST Young Singer of the Year award. She is a keen choral singer, having performed in a vocal sextet with Stephen Isserlis at Wigmore Hall, and as a guest singer in John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit at the Royal Albert Hall. A keen actress, she has performed in multiple musical theatre roles, including the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the Lion in The Wizard of Oz. She was nominated for the Michael Caine Award for best young actress at the Leatherhead festival 2018 and received the award for best devised piece.
